About Me
I moved to Maui on Aug. 6, 1981 - it's a day I celebrate every year. As a dive instructor/guide now with over 10,000 dives on Maui's reefs, I have been incredibly blessed by our reefs and ocean animals and I've also witnessed their decline, as well. I work with the marine tour industry, helping to create educational materials, developing best practices for operating in fragile marine ecosystems and organizing underwater clean up events that target heavily fished shoreline sites. We've cleaned thousands of pounds of lead, sliders and line from just one site since 2006. I'm currently the administrator for the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council, dedicated to creating community-based marine resource management plans.
Why I Love Hawaii
There is nothing better for my spirit than being surrounded in extreme beauty - so just looking out the window does it for me! The sky, the air, the mountains and of course the ocean.
Interests
My #1 priority is doing everything I can to stop the annual export of millions of our reef animals for the mainland and international marine aquarium hobby.
Also, just doing whatever I can to help restore Hawaii's reefs to their naturally healthy, abundant and beautiful state.
